Obama on Jay-Z: We have a lot in common

President Barack Obama says he and Jay-Z have a lot in common.

Obama joked with Beyonce’s husband, “Jay-Z now knows what my life is like… We both have daughters, and our wives are more popular than we are,” the New York Daily News reported.

“So we’ve got a little bond there,” Obama said. “It’s hard, but it’s okay. It’s okay.”

The President made the remarks at a New York City fundraiser Beyonce and Jay-Z threw at the 40/40 club on Tuesday.

"Beyonce could not be a better role model for my girls," Obama added, Politico reported.

The evening raised $4 million for the Obama-Biden campaign; 100 people paid $40,000 a ticket.

"We've made history in the past," Obama said, "and we're going to make history in the next seven weeks," Politico reported.
