A gun control group marched across the Brooklyn Bridge to New York's City Hall on Monday, calling for tighter restrictions on guns and ammunition.

One Million Moms for Gun Control said the event was inspired by Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.'s message of nonviolence, according to the Associated Press.

The AP said members from all five boroughs of New York and several other states took part in the protest.
