Nazis planned to kill Winston Churchill

Newly released and previously secret documents reveal a plan by Nazi agents in 1943 to assassinate Winston Churchill.
ABC News reported they planned to use exploding chocolate bars. German bomb makers added explosives to a layer of dark chocolate and wrapped them in expensive-looking black and gold paper.
Adolf Hitler then planned to use secret agents to smuggle the lethal chocolate along with other luxury items on trays into the dining room used by the Churchill and his War Cabinet during World War II, the Daily Mail reported.

The “Peters Chocolate” bars were allegedly packed with enough explosives to kill anyone nearby. British spies eventually discovered and foiled the plot, telling MI5’s senior intelligence chief, Lord Victor Rothschild, ABC News reported.
The Daily Mail said Rothschild, a scientist and member of the well-known Rothschild banking family, immediately typed a letter to artist Laurence Fish dated May 4, 1943 from his secret bunker on Parliament Street in central London asking him to "draw poster-size images of the chocolate to warn the public to be on the look-out for the bars."
The letter was found Fish’s wife, journalist Jean Bray, in his possessions after his death in 2009.
