Mitt Romney wins Nebraska, Oregon

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney won two more primaries on Tuesday, in the states of Nebraska and Oregon, according to the Associated Press.
With rival Ron Paul announcing on Monday that he would no longer be actively taking part in any primaries, Romney faced no meaningful competition in the primaries.
According to Politico, Romney won more than 70 percent of the vote in Nebraska, leading the next candidate, Rick Santorum, by 60 percentage points. Santorum ended his campaign a month ago. In Oregon, Romney had a similar winning margin of 60 percentage points over Paul.

Politico noted that Romney did not campaign in either state, only making one public campaign appearance in Nebraska and not formally recognizing Tuesday's victories.
AFP noted that even if Romney wins Oregon's 25 delegates and Nebraska's 32 delegates, he is still short of the 1,144 needed to clinch the Republican nomination.
Romney also received former President George W. Bush's not-quite-ringing endorsement on Tuesday. Bush said, "I'm for Mitt Romney," as elevator doors were closing on him, according to AFP.
