New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg had some unorthodox praise for Vice President Joe Biden.
"You know — you can joke about him all you want, [but] he’s got a set of balls, and he says what he believes,” Bloomberg told Politico. “And he forced the focus [on gay marriage].”
Bloomberg told The Daily Caller, “I’m sure the president was evolving and was about to do it anyways. But Biden deserves the credit."
The three-term New York mayor said President Barack Obama should not have waited until his second term to deal with gay marriage and should have been pushing for it from "Day One."
“I’m a big believer in, you need time to fix it or let the public become convinced it’s a good idea, or to cancel it and get over the damage before your next election,” he said.

In recent years, Bloomberg has become more outspoken on social issues. He has been a vocal advocate for gun control and led a ban on large sugary soft drinks.
