Latin American films compete at Sundance Film Festival
Four Latin American films are among the 14 competing for best foreign film at next year's Sundance Festival.
Chile has two entries in the competition: “Violeta Went to Heaven,” a portrait of famed Chilean singer and folklorist Violeta Parra which already won the prestigious Pedro Sienna award in Chile, and “Young & Wild,” about the spiritual struggle of a 17-year-old evangelical girl.
An Argentine film, "The Last Elvis," about a Buenos Aires impersonator who believes he is Elvis reincarnated, also won a nomination.
Finally, "Father's Chair" from Brazil follows a father chasing his runaway sun.
The film festival runs from Jan. 19 to Jan. 29 in Utah.
