Kate Winslet going into space on Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic flight

Kate Winslet will be going into space on a Virgin Galactic flight. Sir Richard Branson bought her the trip as a wedding present.

The actress married Branson's nephew Ned RocknRoll earlier this month in New York, the UK's Daily Telegraph reported.

Actor Leonardo DiCaprio gave away the bride, according to E! News, in an ultra private wedding that was "attended by Winslet's two children and a very few friends and family."

According to the Telegraph, Branson gave Winslet a free ticket, valued at about $200,000 after rescuing Sir Richard’s mother from a fire on his private resort Necker Island retreat in 2011.

"I'm not sure she wants to go on a one-way trip to Mars, but she wants to go into space," Branson told the Telegraph.

As GlobalPost reported, RocknRoll works for Virgin Galactic on a part-time basis. However, as E! News reported, Winslet's spokesperson said the story is not true and it "was invented a while ago."

Winslet and her new husband actually met while on vacation at the Branson Necker Island resort during the infamous fire.

Winslet was previously married to director Sam Mendes and, before that, Jim Threapleton, according to Britain's The Sun.
