Kashmiri villagers search for their belongings after their huts were buried under snow due to avalanche at Ramwari that killed at least nine Indian soldiers on duty in the mountains of Kashmir on February 23, 2012.
An avalanche in Pakistan-administered Kashmir has killed at least 11 people, Pakistan's military said.
According to the Associated Press, the avalanche occurred on Friday in the Sharda sector of the Himalayas. Most of the men were in the military, and a rescue operation to recover the missing persons is underway.
However, the search has been hampered by bad weather, BBC reported.
Avalanches and landslides are common in Kashmir. Last April, an avalanche at the Siachen Glacier killed 140 people, including 129 soldiers.
