John McAfee says he is being framed for murder in Belize

John McAfee, the eccentric founder of anti-virus software company McAfee, said he had nothing to do with the murder of his neighbor in Belize and believes authorities are trying to frame him for a crime he did not commit, Wired reported.
Police are searching for McAfee as a “person of interest” in the investigation into the shooting death of Gregory Faull, who lived next door to McAfee on Ambergris Caye, an island off the coast of Belize, Reuters reported.
Faull, 52, was found dead on Sunday in a pool of blood.

McAfee “buried himself in the sand with a cardboard box over his head” to avoid detection by police when they searched his home on Sunday afternoon, the millionaire expat with a penchant for guns told Wired magazine.
The 67-year-old told the magazine they “will kill me if they find me” so he is hiding out in the Central American country, where he has lived since 2008.
“Under no circumstances am I going to willingly talk to the police in this country,” McAfee was quoted as saying.
“You can say I’m paranoid about it but they will kill me, there is no question. They’ve been trying to get me for months. They want to silence me. I am not well liked by the prime minister. I am just a thorn in everybody’s side.”
Gizmodo reported that McAfee and Faull had been “at odds for some time” and that Faull had recently filed a formal complaint against the security software pioneer with the mayor’s office.
