Iraq’s Diyala, a multi-ethnic province, hit by twin bomb attack

Officials said two bombs exploded in a village in the troubled Iraqi province of Diyala today, killing at least eight people, reported BBC News.
The fertile region, home to a diverse population of Sunnis, Shiites and Kurds, plunged into turmoil after the 2003 US-led invasion and continues to see flashes of violence, according to Reuters.

Officials said a suicide car bomber detonated his explosives near a busy coffee shop in the predominantly Sunni village of Garma, while another bomb also exploded inside the store, reported Agence-France Press.
Doctor Abdul-Razaq Hussein told Reuters that his hospital in the nearby city of Baquba had received nearly 20 people wounded in the incident.
No one has claimed the attack, said BBC.
Violence has fallen overall in Iraq but the nation continues to see near-daily attacks.
