NEW YORK – The man wanted for a hit-and-run accident that killed a Jewish couple and their baby surrendered to police in Pennsylvania.
Julio Acevedo was arrested Wednesday afternoon by the NYPD Fugitive Apprehension Team as he walked into the parking lot of a mini-mart store in Bethlehem, Pa., the New York Daily News reported.
“Plans are underway now to extradite him to New York in connection with the car crash that took the lives of the young couple and their child,” said NYPD spokesman Paul Browne.
The 44-year-old has been on the run since Sunday evening when he allegedly fled the scene of a horrific car crash that killed a young couple and their premature baby.
Nachman Glauber, 21, and his pregnant wife, Raizel, also 21, were on their way to hospital in a taxi when their vehicle was hit by a BMW sedan, The Connecticut News reported.
The couple's baby son was born via C-section following the crash, but died the next day.
