GlobalPost receives 2012 Edward R. Murrow Award for “On Location” video series

BOSTON, MA – At a ceremony Monday night in New York, GlobalPost received the 2012 National Edward R. Murrow Award in the Video News Series category for “On Location.” It is the second year in a row that GlobalPost’s groundbreaking video series has been honored with the prestigious Murrow award, which is given by The Radio Television Digital News Association to honor excellence in electronic journalism. In April 2012, “On Location” was the recipient of a George Foster Peabody Award, the oldest award for electronic media.

“This award goes to our incredible journalists who continue to tell great human stories from the far reaches of the globe, often risking their lives in the process.” said GlobalPost Editor Thomas Mucha. “Being recognized twice with the Murrow Award in back-to-back years is validation that their extraordinary efforts are making a valuable contribution to the public’s understanding of important world events.”
