GlobalPost hiring a deputy editor

GlobalPost

GlobalPost, an award-winning international news organization, is hiring a deputy breaking news and social media editor. The deputy editor will help manage a dynamic news desk that currently has 20 part-time writers based around the world. He or she will be responsible for writing smart news briefs on the big global stories of the day as well as fun or quirky stories that have the potential to go viral.

The deputy editor will also help manage GlobalPost’s presence on social media platforms like Google+, Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter and Pinterest. He or she will develop site-specific features that engage readers, drive page views and promote the GlobalPost brand.

We are looking for someone with a journalism background who brings strong news judgment as well as strong digital skills. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with search engine optimization and social media optimization. The position is based in Boston.

To apply, please contact Hanna Ingber, GlobalPost’s breaking news and social media editor, at hingber@globalpost.com. Please send her a cover letter, resume, three references and links to articles or blogs you have written.
