Gene Simmons of KISS endorses Mitt Romney for president, regrets supporting Obama in 2008

Known as “The Demon,” KISS founder Gene Simmons today endorsed Republican Mitt Romney for president and said he regretted his 2008 endorsement of Barack Obama.

Born Chaim Weitz, the bassist and singer, now 62, appeared on Fox News to make his announcement, according to The Huffington Post.

Asked which candidate he would endorse, according to HuffPost, Simmons said: "Strictly speaking on the economy and in my humble opinion, Mitt Romney."

“America is a business and should be run by a businessman,” he added.

According to a Gallup poll released today, Romney’s national lead over other GOP contenders continues to widen, currently giving him a 16-point advantage over Rick Santorum.

An average of polling results in Wisconsin, one of three Republican contests being held today, gives Romney a 7.5 percent advantage, too, according to RealClearPolitics.
