France: Thousands march against gay marriage bill

Thousands of protesters took to the streets of France to rally again President Francois Hollande's plan to legalize gay marriage and adoption.
The “Demonstration for All” rally took place across France in Paris, Toulouse, Rennes, Nantes, Dijon, Bordeaux, Marseille and Lyon, the Associated Press reported. It was organized by Catholic and conservative pro-family groups.

France 24 reported organizers said their goal was to stop the government from passing the “Marriage and Adoption for All” which would change the definition of marriage from strictly a union between a man and a woman.
The bill would also "replace the entries in a child's registry book from 'father' and 'mother' to 'parent 1' and 'parent 2,','" according to France 24.
Organizers estimate some 15,000 and 20,000 people rallied in Paris, alone.
The Associated Press said most French favor gay marriage, and 50 percent support adoption by same-sex couples.
