Police say two people are dead and another is injured after a shooting at a central Florida Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) post.

A charity run by a motorcycle club were supposed to leave the Winter Springs post around 10:40 a.m. after having breakfast when armed men came in and began shooting, reported the Orlando Sentinel. It was unclear how many shooters there were or if gunfire went back-and-forth between attendees and shooters. Police taped off the area and evacuated people to a nearby senior center.

According to NBC News, Lt. Doug Steeley, Winter Springs Police Public Information Officer, said a number of people have been detained and police have confiscated numerous weapons. Police said the investigation remains in the early stages and that they believe they have a shooter in custody.

The Associated Press noted that VFW posts around the country care for veterans and their families.
