The Metropolitan Police are treating the attack as attempted murder, according to Sky News.

Gorbuntsov is currently under armed guard in hospital. The BBC reports that detectives from the Trident Gang Crime Command are dealing with the incident.

Gorbuntsov, in his 40s, previously owned banks in Russia and Moldova, according to ITN News
