Dick Cheney to write a book about his heart

Dick Cheney is said to be writing a medical memoir about life with heart disease.

Cheney will write the book with his daughter and Dr Jonathan Reiner, a cardiologist.

Former vice president Cheney, 71, suffered his first heart attack in 1978 and had four more in the last three decades.

“It explains and talks about all the developments in cardiology by going through my own case,” Cheney told the Associated Press.

“I’m alive today because of the tremendous advances that have been made."

This book will likely be far less controversial than last year's memoir "In My Time," Cheney's unapologetic memoir which the New York Times said contained "a predictable mix of spin, stonewalling, score settling and highly selective reminiscences."

The book will be published by Scribner next fall and some proceeds will go to charity.

It is currently untitled and the financial terms have yet to be disclosed.
