At least two tornadoes have touched down in Dallas causing "tremendous damage," according to NBC News. Scroll down for videos from the ground.
Live footage of "debris balls" was shown in several counties by the national broadcaster's Dallas-Fort Worth affiliate, according to NBCDFW.com. Downtown Dallas was not directly struck but the populated areas to the city's south were.

Powerlines could be seen to explode and vehicles were thrown across a major highway and large trucks were lifted and tossed as a tornado was seen to move through a populated area, according to NBC.
"There's lots of 18-wheelers," an NBC Dallas-Fort Worth correspondent near Arlington was quoted as saying. "I've never seen this before."
Reporting with The Associated Press, CBS News said "considerable damage" had been reported near Cleburne.
"If anybody's driving they should probably not head into that storm," Mike Johnson, director of Johnson County Emergency Services, was quoted as saying, "because I was coming back from one location and it [rain] was so heavy that cars were stopping on the side of the road because they couldn't even see from just shear, heavy rain."
Bloomberg reports that AMR Corp announced it had canceled about 460 American Airlines and American Eagle flights into and out of Dallas-Fort Worth Airport. The airport grounded all flights at about 1:30 pm local time. According to Reuters, the airport has moved stranded passengers away from windows into stairwells and restrooms to protect them in the event of flying glass.
