Vice President Joe Biden and U2 lead singer Bono met today at the White House to discuss global development issues.
The meeting comes during what the Washington Post's Reliable Source is calling "Bono Week in Washington," with the rockstar meeting with officials in government, international organizations and universities to talk about global poverty.
The Post reported that Biden and Bono were also discussing issues such as global development and AIDS.
Bono is also expected to meet with Democratic and Republican lawmakers as a representative of the ONE Campaign, which promotes ending extreme poverty.
Bono, 52, has long been an advocate for ending poverty, hunger and AIDS in Africa.
White House spokesman Jay Carney joked that Bono and Jim Messina — President Barack Obama's campaign manager who had visited the White House earlier that day — were meeting to form a new band, said CBS News.
After the meeting, the Office of the Vice President tweeted out a picture of the discussion.
