Argentina tackles traffic congestion

To tackle traffic problems in Buenos Aires, the city is considering reducing the number of cars allowed into the capital.

Buenos Aires Mayor Mauricio Macri proposes that on weekdays access to certain streets will be determined by license plate numbers, reports the Argentine Independent.

On certain days, only even numbered license plates would be allowed through. On the other days, only odd numbered ones.

Certain vehicles would be exempt, including taxis and motorcycles.
