Ann Curry’s #26acts movement gains momentum

Ann Curry of NBC News has been performing acts of kindness in honor of the Newtown shooting victims, and encouraging others to do the same.
The Twitter hashtag, which began as #20acts – one for each of the children killed — expanded to #26acts, and has quickly gained steam as people across the United States and the world chime in with their deliberate good deeds.
Twenty-six people were killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School Friday by gunman Adam Lanza. Earlier in the day, Lanza had also killed his mother, and later killed himself.
"Newtown's heartbreak has a lot of us asking, 'What can I do?'" Curry wrote on NBC's website. "Thinking about this, I took to Twitter and asked people to imagine what would happen if all of us committed to 20 acts of kindness to honor each child lost in Newtown. I added, 'I'm in. If you are, RT #20Acts.'"
