Afghanistan: US troops ordered out of two provinces

The Afghanistan president  has had enough of US troops and he wants them gone.

Afghan President Hamid Karzai  has ordered US special forces to leave the Wardak and Logar provinces within two weeks over allegations of torture, BBC News reported. The province of Wardak in particular has been the focus of counter-insurgency operations. The US told the BBC that it takes the misconduct allegations seriously.

In November, a Taliban suicide bombing in Wardak killed at least 40.

But now, Karzai says US troops are making the situation worse.

"In today's national security council meeting, Afghan President Hamid Karzai ordered the ministry of defense to kick out the US special forces from Wardak and Logar provinces within two weeks,"presidential spokesman Aimal Faizi told reporters, according to Agence France Presse. "The US special forces and illegal armed groups created by them are causing insecurity, instability, and harass local people in these provinces."
