Sao Paulo building collapse kills 10

SAO PAULO, Brazil — A building under construction in eastern Sao Paulo, Brazil, collapsed on Tuesday morning, killing 10 and trapping others under the rubble.

According to officials, about 35 people were in the two-story building, located in the San Mateus district, when it came down around 8:35 a.m. local time.

At least 26 people were injured, including 11 people who were pulled out of the rubble alive.

Military police helicopters and two dogs were used to help the 60 firefighters on the scene search for victims.

One of Brazil's national news network, Globo, has shown images of some of the victims being treated near the collapsed building or being taken away on stretchers.
