A Pennsylvania man killed his two-year-old son and injured his wife before turning the gun on himself during a custody exchange, reports AP.
Police told AP that Kenneth Ayers, 52, also shot his mother Saturday morning at her home in a rural area about 20 miles southwest of Pennsylvania State College.
The incident happened Saturday morning as Hollie Jo Ayers brought the couple's 2-year-old son to Kenneth Ayers' mother's house in Barree Township, Huntingdon County for a custody exchange.
Huntingdon County District Attorney George Zanic told AP that Hollie Jo had a protection from abuse order against Kenneth but that he was allowed to visit with his son.
According to Centre Daily, a fight broke out between Kenneth and his estranged wife and he shot her in the right arm and both legs before he fatally shot his young son.
Police said Kenneth Ayers then placed the child’s body in the back of his vehicle. When Hollie Jo Ayers attempted to retrieve the child’s body, Kenneth Ayers then shot her in the face, according to police. He then shot at his mother, Mary Ayers, missing her. – Centre Daily
Police later found Ayers found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a wooded area nearby.
