New York: Long Island shooting sparks police manhunt for gunman

New York police are searching for a gunman who shot two people in an office, killing one of them, in what is believed to have been a workplace dispute.

The shooter, who could be a disgruntled former employee, allegedly entered a light fixture importing business near the Roosevelt Field Mall around 10 a.m. on Wednesday and opened fire on the store owner and an employee. The owner is in a critical condition in hospital.

The shopping mall and nearby schools have been locked down while police search for the suspect, who has been identified as Sang Ho Kim.

"At this point and time we believe that this suspect is armed and very dangerous," Nassau County Police Chief of Department Steven Skrynecki told a news conference.

"Right now we are involved in a very massive hunt for this individual."

Local and state police have been joined by the FBI in the search.
