Malala Yousafzai gets $3 million book deal

Malala Yousafzai has landed a $3 million book deal.
The story of a 15-year Pakistani girl who was shot by the Taliban will be published later this year with the title "I Am Malala," UK publisher Weidenfeld & Nicolson announced on Wednesday.
Yousafzai was shot in the head by a Taliban gunman for advocating for girls' education in Pakistan in October 2012 on her way home from school.
Malala was flown to the UK for treatment and she and her family are expected to remain in the UK while her father works as education attache at the Consulate of Pakistan over the next three years, reported the BBC.
The Guardian reported she now attends a school in Birmingham, England.
"I hope this book will reach people around the world, so they realize how difficult it is for some children to get access to education," Yousafzai said. "I want to tell my story, but it will also be the story of 61 million children who can't get education. I want it to be part of the campaign to give every boy and girl the right to go to school. It is their basic right."
