London bus crash leaves dozens injured

Dozens of people were injured when one of London’s iconic red double-decker buses crashed into a tree on Friday.
Thirty-two people were hurt, including two uniformed police officers who were travelling on the bus at the time of the accident.
Seven people had serious injuries. All of the injured have been taken to hospital for treatment.
The incident happened at around 11 a.m. local time when the bus, a number 59 heading to King’s Cross, reportedly swerved to miss another vehicle and hit a tree on Kennington Road.
Fire fighters, ambulance officers and police attended the accident scene.
Emergency workers had to cut through the bodywork of the bus to free some of the passengers trapped inside the mangled wreckage.
The accident comes less than 24 hours after a section of the ceiling of the historic Apollo Theatre in London’s West End collapsed, injuring at least 76 people.
