A deadly grenade attack struck Rwanda's Kigali on Friday, according to Reuters

"Two people died on the spot, two others were seriously injured while 30 others sustained minor injuries," Reuters quoted the police statement as saying.

Rwandan police spokesman Theos Badege told France24 the attack took place at nightfall in the Nyabugogo of Kigali, the capital.

One person has reportedly been arrested in connection with the attack, said Reuters

A similar attack in Kigali in March killed one person, but the grenade strikes go back as far as 2010, according to France24

It is not known who is behind the violence, but the nation's high court recently sentenced 19 people over their alleged involvement, said France24
