Eid, the huge Islamic festival marking the end of Ramadan, is all over the popular photo sharing website Instagram as Muslims enthusiastically chronicle the end of a month of fasting.

The major religious event is usually marked by special rituals, gifts (new clothing is common), and sweets, and is generally seen as a time to pay increased attention to one's spiritual life, family, and charity work.

The festivities often include large family meals and celebrations that can spill into whole streets. 

This year, thanks to the internet, Muslims are spreading the love well beyond their local neighborhoods.
