Day 1,149: Residents return to evacuated section of Homs

GlobalPost

Today is Day 1,149 of the Syria conflict.

Yesterday a batch of photos came through showing the devastation in the Old City of Homs, which rebel fighters began evacuating Wednesday in a negotiated surrender to government forces.

Today come photos of residents of the Old City returning to the area, which had suffered heavy bombardment from government forces during the lengthy siege. Two regime soldiers were killed today during the de-mining process.
