Boston bomber manhunt: suspicious car stopped near Niagara Falls

Police have stopped a car with Massachusetts license plates in Niagara Falls, NY, and the New York State Police bomb squad is searching it with a robot, WGRZ TV is reporting.

Officials have shut down the block behind city market where the car, a black Nissan, is located, and residents are being asked to stay clear of the area.

“We're not sure of the contents of the car or what their activity is,” Niagara Falls Police Superintendent Bryan DalPorto said, according to the Niagara Gazette.

DalPorto said the two men who were in the car have been detained for questioning, the Niagara Gazette reported.

Earlier, a police source told WGRZ TV that the two people in the car were Russian nationals, but police now say that is not true.

The city of Niagara Falls is located across the Niagara River from the city of Niagara Falls in Ontario, Canada.
