4 bodies found in wreckage of Connecticut plane crash (VIDEO)

An ex-Microsoft exec and his son were among four people killed when a small plane approaching the airport in East Haven, Conn., crashed into two homes, family members confirmed Saturday.

Bill Henningsgaard and his teenage son, Maxwell, were visiting colleges on the East Coast at the time of the crash Friday, his brother told The Associated Press.

Two children, ages 1 and 13, were also found dead in one of the homes, according to the Hartford Courant.

The other house was unoccupied.

Autopsities were scheduled to be completed on Saturday.

No distress calls were reported before the twin-engine Rockwell International Turbo Commander 690B veered into the homes upon approach to the Tweed New Haven Airport.

The aircraft's left wing was lodged in one house and its right wing in another.

The crash sparked multiple fires, including at the home where the children's bodies were discovered.

Their mother was found screaming on the lawn, yelling for someone to help her two children inside. Passerby Frank Diglio, 55, ran inside in an attempt to rescue them, but the flames nearly overtook him.

I’m crying now because I couldn’t find them,” he told the Courant.
