Teenage Rider Wins Mongol Derby

Nineteen-year-old Lara Prior-Palmer decided that she wanted to spend her summer break a little differently. So she embarked on a 1,000 km horse race across Mongolia.

The Mongol Derby, which is the world’s longest horse race, traces Genghis Khan’s ancient postal route.

Prior-Palmer not only finished the race, she won it.

She recounts her experience to the BBC’s Pooneh Ghoddoosi.
