Seven Days Inside Syria: A Journalist Shares Her Experiences

The Takeaway

Reliable information from inside Syria is notoriously hard to come by. Few foreign journalists are allowed in, and many of those who have reported from inside the embattled country had to sneak in, reporting anonymously so as to maintain their cover.
Laura Lynch, a correspondent for PRI’s The World, recently spent seven days inside the Syria. She did so with permission, following UN monitors as they toured the country in an effort to maintain a UN-Arab League-orchestrated ceasefire. Lynch shares her impressions and experiences of her time within Syria, and assesses the fragile state of the country.
