Real Madrid Plans Billion Dollar Resort in the Middle East

The World

The Spanish soccer team Real Madrid just announced a plan to build a billion dollar island resort.

And as part of the Geo Quiz, we are asking you where the island will be built.

The resort that is proposed to include sports facilities, luxury accommodations and a theme park is to be constructed along the coast of the Persian Gulf.

Specifically in one of the seven emirates of United Arab Emirates, the one at the north-eastern tip of the federation.

Ras al-Khaimah, one of the emirates of the UAE in the Persian Gulf is the answer to the Geo Quiz.

Anchor Marco Werman talks to Andrew Zimbalist, professor of economics at Smith College, says the plan by European soccer team Real Madrid to launch a billion dollar island resort/soccer theme park is a strategic move to conquer the global sports market.
