Meet the Eels

Mark Oliver Everett, sometimes known as A Man Called E, is the frontman of the genre-hopping rock band Eels. The band has just released a greatest hits collection ("Meet the Eels") and a collection of B-sides and rarities ("Useless Trinkets").

In the past year, he’s put together compilations, released an autobiography, and premiered a BBC documentary about his father.

He’s on "The Sound of Young America" to talk about why he has always had a rotating band, how sick he is of self-reflection, and of course gorilla hunting.

The brainchild of host and producer Jesse Thorn, "The Sound of Young America" is an irreverent weekly arts and entertainment interview program, described by its creator as "a public radio show about things that are awesome."
