Carey Goldberg, Beth Jones and Pamela Ferdinand are journalists, and co-authors of “Three Wishes: A True Story of Good Friends, Crushing Heartbreak, and Astonishing Luck on Our Way to Love and Motherhood.” And, much like Jennifer Lopez’ character in “The Back-up Plan,” all three attempted to embark on parenthood with donor sperm, only to fall in love along the way.
