Several big movies open today, and Rafer Guzman, Takeaway contributor and Newsday film critic, gives us his take on what to catch in the theater and which ones to avoid.
“The Other Guys” stars Mark Wahlberg (playing a comic version of his role from “The Departed”) and Will Ferrell (taking on the same role he always plays). “Step Up 3D” is the first non-sci-fi, non-animated major motion picture to jump on board the current 3D craze. And “Twelve” takes the best-selling novel of the same name from page to screen.
But are any of them any good?
Suffice it to say: one made Rafer laugh, one charmed him, and one made him want to walk out of the theater.
