Eddie Izzard

Fair Game
The World

Eddie Izzard appeared on the American radar with his Emmy-winning 1999 standup show Dress to Kill – where his absurd, sharp, stream-of-consciousness style of comedy was as compelling as his outfit. While never quite leaving standup, he’s also starred on stage in Lenny – about Lenny Bruce – and received a Tony nomination for his work in A Day in the Death of Joe Egg. He’s been in movies such as Mystery Men and Ocean’s Twelve. And he’s the star and co-executive producer of the critically acclaimed FX TV series, The Riches, now in its second season. Faith Salie speaks with Eddie Izzard on Fair Game.

Do you support journalism that strengthens our democracy?

At The World, we believe strongly that human-centered journalism is at the heart of an informed public and a strong democracy. We see democracy and journalism as two sides of the same coin. If you care about one, it is imperative to care about the other.

Every day, our nonprofit newsroom seeks to inform and empower listeners and hold the powerful accountable. Neither would be possible without the support of listeners like you. If you believe in our work, will you give today? We need your help now more than ever!
