Brazil former bank chief to head Olympic authority

Brazil’s longest-serving central Bank chief, Henrique Meirelles, has been tapped to head the country’s preparations for 2016 Olympics, the BBC reports. Meirelles, who led Brazil’s central bank under former President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, is expected to be confirmed by the senate in the coming weeks.
