A neighbor’s gifts last 14 years

The World

A few years ago, around Christmastime, an elderly man in Wales passed away and left a pile of Christmas gifts for his neighbor Owen Williams’ daughter, a 2-year-old at the time. Thousands of heart-warmed people on social media helped the parents decide to make the kindness last — and allow their daughter to open just one gift each year for 14 years. The World’s Marco Werman first spoke to Williams when the presents from their neighbor Ken Watson landed on their doorstep six years ago. Now, they catch up again on how the gift opening tradition keep Watson’s memory alive.
