A new and powerful weather forecasting model GenCast from Google is said to be more accurate than one of the most-reliable models in the world run by the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts. That’s according to research published in the journal Nature on Wednesday. The study found that GenCast could also better predict extreme weather, a growing concern due to climate change.
