Jailed Cambodian journalist released on bail

The World

After apologizing for posting “false information” and promising to stop posting anything that “hurts the leaders and the nation,” journalist Mech Dara was released on Thursday from prison. Dara made a name for himself exposing the proliferation of human trafficking and online scam operations in Cambodia. The government said it’s committed to freedom of the press, but has a duty to stop fake news. Leila Goldstein reports.
