In late February two Binance execs were grabbed by Nigeria and accused of manipulating their country’s currency, naira. One of them, Tigran Gambaryan, is a former IRS investigator responsible for the earliest takedowns of crooked crypto currency exchanges. Some in the industry believe that Gambaryan is essentially being held hostage by the Nigerian government, hoping for a big payday from Binance.
