“Dora the Explorer” was a TV show about the adventures of a young, bilingual Latina in which the viewer was supposed to take an active role. The show generated multiple seasons, spinoffs and even a live action film. An upcoming reboot of the show is expected to bring young viewers more adventures and lessons. The World’s host Carolyn Beeler spoke with the original series’ cultural advisor, Carlos Cortés. Cortés, a professor emeritus at US Riverside in California, explained how the show’s intent was to build bridges.
