What did the past smell like? A German art museum has the answers.

Here’s something for your nose to consider — an art history project funded by the European Union is dedicated to re-creating fragrances tied to works of art. It’s part of an effort to preserve and maintain historical scents that have fallen out of modern daily life. The World’s Durrie Bouscaren followed her nose to the town of Ulm, in southern Germany, where an art museum is offering “olfactory tourism.”
