The story of Syria’s war through the eyes of children

Bassam Khabieh didn’t start out as a photographer. He studied computer science at Damascus University. But living in Syria, and witnessing the atrocities of war pushed him to document what was taking place. He turned his camera on children and started capturing how the war impacted them. His photos are now published in a book called “Witnesses to War.” The World’s Shirin Jaafari spoke with Khabieh about his work.
