Syrians in Turkey face deportation over so-called provocation in social media posts

Last week, a video showing a Turkish man harassing a Syrian woman for buying bananas went viral. Syrians responded by posting TikTok videos of themselves eating bananas. Now, some of them are being deported. As Durrie Bouscaren reports, the banana has become an unexpected symbol of rising hostilities against Turkey’s 3.6 million Syrians living as refugees.
