An unopened copy of the cartridge just set a new record, selling at auction for more than $1.5 million. The record sale for the most expensive video game at auction likely wasn’t for game play — Nintendo has rereleased Super Mario 64, the newer Switch gaming console. But, as memorabilia, Mario 64 is indeed super.
